School Community Toolbox

In the fall of 2021, the National Association for Community Mediation (NAFCM) was contacted by member centers about addressing increasing school board/ community conflict. NAFCM convened a listening session around the types of conflicts centers were seeing and potential actions for centers to take.

One of the centers knew that Living Room Conversations (LRC) was also interested in this issue, and introduced them to NAFCM. Since then, NAFCM and LRC, with input from community mediation centers around the country, have developed and tested a toolbox for school communities to constructively handle conflict.
