Joining an Online Living Room Conversation

The quality of our conversations depends on three things:

  1. The group following the guide and conversation agreements
  2. Your attitude as a respectful and curious participant
  3. The variety of viewpoints from which we can learn
  • Choose a quiet location with a reliable Internet connection and few interruptions or background noise. It can be your living room, or office, or kitchen, or other location.

  • Connect to the video call through the link provided in your confirmation or reminder email.  Follow the prompts to download the software, connect via computer video and audio. You CAN opt out of the video, but we’d really like to see your face!  It can add so much to the experience!

    • Please join the video call five minutes early. If the microphone and video icons in the lower-left corner have a red line over them, click on them to unmute and show your video. We want to see and hear you!

    •  If you are new to Zoom video calls, learn more HERE.

    • Your host will be on the call 5 minutes early to help anyone with technology issues, questions, etc. If you need help you may contact them through the email provided in your reminder email.

  • Bring the two-page conversation guide and something to jot down notes.  Your host will guide you through the conversation using this guide. You should have received a direct link in your reminder email, but you can also find it on our website under topics.  Pay particular attention to the Round 2 questions.

After the conversation ends, you have the option to ask the host questions and learn more about what you can do with Living Room Conversations for up to 30 minutes.

Know someone who has a different perspective on this topic and would enjoy this conversation? Reach out to them, tell them why you thought of them, and share why you signed up! Like you, they will need to sign up on EventBrite. You can find all our event listings here.
