Black Women Answer the Call: A Dialogue for Black Women

July 23, 2020 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm PDT

On May 25, 2020 George Floyd called his Mama. Not on the phone. He was calling out to her as his life was ended by a Minneapolis police officer who pressed his knee into Mr. Floyd’s neck for 8 minutes and 46 seconds.

“Mama!” There was audible anguish that can be heard in George Floyd’s voice as this was captured on recording. In the protests that followed, one woman is shown holding a sign which reads, “All mothers were summoned when George Floyd called out for his Mama.” And we were. During this Living Room Conversation, Black women from all over are invited to attend a virtual conversation to voice and process the impact of these events on our psyches, our parenting, our work, and our presence in the world.

Please register via Calendly by clicking the conversation date below and selecting the open time slot. If there are no options to click a date that means that our conversation has been filled. You will receive a confirmation email right away.

We are a low overhead, open-source, grassroots effort. Your donations help to make our online conversation offerings possible. A link to our donation page will be found on your registration confirmation page.
